Leatherform has been manufacturing a large variety of leather goods for over 30 years and in that time has created some life-long friends, customers and business clients. These include St.John, NZ Fire service, Police, AVSEC, various City Councils, Corrections, Dog control, Defence and many others. Design and manufacture is the framework for our business, and aim to design with a passion for quality, looks and to make a product that will last the distance as it should, using the very best materials and components available. Heavy cutting, splitting, embossing and stitching machinery can make the finished product better and stronger in some ways but “hand-made, hand stitched and hand finished” is still a big part of my company.
“We will stand by the quality and methods used to build our leather products. Our workmanship is guaranteed to be of the highest standard that will match up to any similar item made anywhere in the world.”
Trevor Killip who is our Managing Director and owner started making leather goods about 1975. From this beginning, time and experience working with leather, sewing machinery, suppliers and many happy customers, it has progressed into a small leather business that can manufacture small runs of finished leather goods or one off products. Leather repairs are also our specialty, along with our range of leather products which is wide and varied. Working with vegetable tanned leather making heavy duty belts, pouches many other items has been a challenge to say the least but over time this has become a mainstay with many happy commercial customers in the security, corrections and law enforcement industries.
“I believe in making a product that will last the distance”.
Whether it be a simple key ring or a complex basket-weave Police utility belt with many different pouches and holders, the quality must be built in and must first be designed in a way it will be relatively easy to make and not be too expensive to produce.
